Contemporary Mosque
The project
Rooted in the spiritual essence of Islamic architecture, this mosque explores a contemporary architectural language through simplicity, proportion, and material expression. The design brings together warm terracotta brickwork, sculpted pointed arches, a central dome, and a slender vertical minaret to create a distinctive yet timeless place of worship.
The interplay of solid forms, recessed openings, and contrasting light-colored frames gives the façade depth while allowing traditional Islamic architectural elements to be reinterpreted in a modern context. Set within the serene greenery of rural Barishal, the mosque is envisioned as a peaceful landmark that harmonizes spiritual purpose with its natural surroundings.
